Desert Sky Strings is a new string ensemble in Valley of the Sun! We are currently building a Community Orchestra and a small performance ensemble! Our Community Orchestra is open to all string musicians 18 years and older with at least 1 year of playing experience. Yes, 50 years ago in high school counts! Dust off your instrument and join US!
Our small performance ensemble is rehearsing weekly and available for booking for live entertainment for private events! Currently we are building this ensemble as a string quartet but as we continue to develop as an organization we hope to open to other instruments!

Our repertoire includes a variety of classical and modern selections and we are constantly adding new pieces and welcome any request at time of booking. Join our community orchestra!
Desert Sky Strings is currently holding open community orchestra rehearsals once a month and we hope to increase frequency as we continue to develop our organization to include facilities and support roles. The community orchestra is open to all musicians 18 years or older with at least one year of playing experience.
Desert Sky Strings is also holding weekly small ensemble rehearsals. We are currently seeking a Viola player for a primary seat and have understudy seats available as well for other positions. Due to the nature of this group, an informal audition is required to be offered a position in this ensemble.
Rehearsals are currently being held Mondays at 4:30 PM. Please contact us to request more information and join us in creating music and community!

To provide resources that elevate musicians that create opportunities for performing that promotes visibility & access to music for queer and marginalized communities while promoting environmental & artistic sustainability.
Our Vision
will build a Community Orchestra open to all skill levels, a private performance ensemble for private events, facilitate educational & experiential events that are aimed at developing musician’s skill, confidence, & enjoyment. (Name) will foster a community of artist that support and promote environmental & artistic sustainability. Desert Sky Strings works with our community to assist musicians in overcoming challenges in pursuing music that include but not limited to financial, social, and educational.
